Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve products, techniques, procedures, and technologies. You will design and develop new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as current products modification and improvements based on in-service issues and market strategy. You are responsible for design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies and product improvements.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize mechanical enclosures for aerospace avionics / electronics
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure mechanical designs meet performance and safety requirements
  • Develop and implement design standards and best practices
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Work on Engineering Change Notices (updating designs and drawings per redlined documentation)
  • Utilize Creo Parametric Mechanical Computer Aided Design Tool to execute Mechanical Designs
  • Utilize NX Mechanical Analysis Tools to execute advanced thermal and structural analyses of Mechanical Designs

Pay Range:

“The annual base salary range for this position is 33.00 – 39.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.”

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering completed and pursuing PhD degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Must graduate in December 2025 or later
  • Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations and a need to obtain a security clearance, candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:

  • Proficiency in Mechanical CAD and Analysis software and other engineering tools
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with structural analysis and finite element analysis
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering and analytical concepts and techniques to highly complex mechanical projects
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
  • Ability to effectively operate in a matrix organization
  • Broad breadth of knowledge in the field of Mechanical Engineering especially in the packaging of electronics, advanced thermal and structural concepts, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design engineering processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly processes
  • Knowledge to act as a technical consultant for management
  • Providing technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities and adjusts plans to minimize risk and maximize opportunity
