Primary responsibilities:
- Financial analysis and research
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and assessments of companies and diligently assess their financial standing, industry positioning, growth prospects, strengths, weaknesses, and investment opportunities.
- Produce comprehensive sector research reports and benchmarking analysis to assess the competitive positioning. Further, provide insights and observations based upon the analytics and benchmarking.
- Strong understanding of research sources like Refinitive, S&P Capital IQ, Factiva, EMIS.
- Qualitative research and presentations to support client strategy and EY business development activities.
- Prepare materials of regular publication of research reports, including data analysis and presentation.
- Build and contribute towards research reports, including quarterly sector reports and thematic/white papers.
- Preparing Go to market materials for discussion with clients.
- Stay abreast of economic and industry developments.
Stakeholder management and project management
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to identify priority areas to support on their accounts, bring growth driver solutions, prepare sector insights, benchmarking studies for the Audit committee or Board meetings.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in project execution, including operational analytics, project management, problem-solving, and solution implementation.
- Should ensure that all projects are delivered on time with expected quality levels. This includes proper project allocation, close monitoring, performing quality reviews and provide appropriate feedback on time.
- Employ effective search strategies and collate appropriate data leveraging a diverse set of secondary research resources (e.g., web search, online databases, government websites, research organizations, EY subscribed databases etc)
- Organize, analyze, synthesize and or summarize data using appropriate analytical methodologies
- Extend active support to both internal and external stakeholders in performing market related activities like proposal preparation, go to market activities, sector reports etc.
Key competencies required:
- Strong understanding of the IFRS requirements
- Knowledge on sustainability sector insights would be added advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, valuation techniques, and assessing macro-economic variables
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills with an established track record of conducting secondary research, collating and analysing business and financial information.
- Ability to integrate information from multiple sources and present the findings in a clear and concise fashion.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
- Experience communicating and managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously in a team setting is preferred.
- Strong creative mindset to make powerful MS PowerPoint presentations and data visualisations.
- Well-versed with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Power BI
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, multitask and work collaboratively with virtual teams.
- The willingness to meet tight deadlines and work with flexibility.
- Proficiency in Power BI would be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience, in financial or equity research, preferably with a research organization, consulting firm or an investment bank.
- Education qualification includes: MBA/PGDM in Finance/professional courses like CA/ACCA etc.
- Experience working with databases like EMIS, Factiva, Refinitive, S&P CIQ would be an added advantage.
- BIG 4 or Business Consulting experience will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
