Theis a journeyman level shift operator and requires the CA Wastewater Grade 3 certification. The Operator II performs and/or assists with organization of the operation and maintenance of the treatment facility. Based in
, California, you’ll perform a variety of tasks in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. As an Operator II, you'll work independently with minimal supervision and reports to the Project Manager and Chief Plant Operator. Operator II works 8-10 hour shift schedules (overtime included). Shifts range and rotate days, holidays, and weekends. Duties include diagnosing operating problems. Directs and performs necessary corrective action during work shift. Reads gauges and meters, starts, and stops equipment, operates valves to route and control flow, makes process control adjustments, determines, and sets proper chemical dosage and flow rates, operates PLCs and SCADA systems. Complies and reports non-compliance with project policies and procedures. Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures. Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses plant influent, plant process and plant effluent. Makes entries in plant logs. Conducts meetings and training sessions pertaining to safety, process control, etc. Makes operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel. Maintains discipline and ensures proper procedures are followed. Assists in the interviewing of prospective employees. Gives instructions and assignments to plant operators. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work. Performs other duties as required.

  • California – State Water Resources Control Board, Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade 3
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water treatment plant operations
  • Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems
