What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of piping and mechanical equipment (chillers, pumps, exchangers) and plumbing systems (domestic, industrial, reclaimed water, sanitary sewer) for the data center
- Lead daily whiteboard meetings with contractors to plan work and conduct weekly safety meetings to assess safety adherence and project progress
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other trades (electrical, structural) to integrate MEP systems into the overall project
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality standards
- Perform regular inspections to ensure piping and plumbing systems comply with blueprints, codes (ASME, ASHRAE, UPC, NFPA), and industry standards
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols on-site
- Assist in the testing, startup, and turnover of mechanical and plumbing systems, ensuring readiness for data center operations
- Minimum of 7 years in mechanical and plumbing construction, including 3 years in a supervisory role. Prior experience on data center or mission-critical facility projects is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of piping, mechanical equipment, and plumbing systems specific to data centers
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, journeyman/master plumber license, or piping certification are strongly preferred
- Proficiency in construction management software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with ASME piping codes, local building codes, International Mechanical Code (IMC), Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and data center-specific standards (Uptime Institute Tier Standards)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders
