Manage transaction annual review and quarterly review process in partnership with the first line of defense (relationship and product partners).
Provide review and challenge for annual and interim reviews of credit applications through careful analysis and assessment of information provided and taking a holistic view of the risks. Focus on understanding the client’s financial strength, investment objectives, risk tolerance, investment/collateral portfolio characteristics, etc
Approve and make recommendations for approval to risk SCOs for the approval of transactions, annual reviews, quarterly reviews and CCRs. The candidate will also be assisting risk SCO L2 and other senior risk SCOs when they are the primary approvers.
Manage and maintain a portfolio of credit exposures to Citi's North American Wealth clients
Assist with portfolio management activities, including limits, stress testing, portfolio reviews, and regulatory requests
Participate as directed in working groups, forums, special projects, etc whether as an active member or when asked to lead initiatives
Assist with periodic BICR, internal audit and regulatory reviews
Job Qualifications
Previous work experience in risk management with a large banking institution supporting Wealth portfolios
Strong understanding of credit risk analysis
Strong understanding of collateral analysis
Ability to work within the bank’s Credit Risk Management framework, policies and procedures
Proven strong analytical and credit analysis skills with good attention to detail and ability to provide big picture decision making
Familiarity with traded products, e.g. fx and derivatives
Ability to conduct business due diligence and assess a counterparty’s financial strengths
Independent problem solving skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines created due to business needs
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations in a succinct manner to senior risk managers
Ability to synthesize, prioritize and deliver results with urgency
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics preferred
6 – 8 years credit risk or relevant experience, preferably gained at either Citigroup or at a major financial institution
An MBA, CPA, CFA or formal Credit Training is a plus
Formal credit officer approval authority experience is a plus. Candidates should be seeking or are expected to seek an SCO title.
