The Engineering Manager is responsible for:
- Managing capital improvement projects as owner’s representative and Operations interface.
- Collaborating with off-site Jacobs’ design teams on project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to the meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements.
- Performing periodic updates to site condition assessment and capital plan.
- Managing design, procurement, and construction for major maintenance projects (equipment renewal and replacement).
- Working in the field with Jacobs’ operations and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and develop solutions.
- Preparing change orders and reporting to the Client.
- Review change order invoices.
- BS degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in serving water and wastewater municipal clients involving a wide range of planning, consulting, design and construction services.
- Professional engineering license or Engineer-In-Training.
- Experience in water and wastewater, including knowledge of all project phases including studies, piloting, conceptual design, detailed design, construction administration, and startup.
- Experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams on water/wastewater design and construction projects.
- Experience leading projects or tasks, including schedule and budget tracking.
- Have strong communication skills specifically related to technical writing and presentations.
- Understanding and coordinating project specifications/drawings, bidding, construction oversight, and commissioning.
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- MS in Civil or Environmental engineering.
- Professional engineering license in Delaware or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Experience in wastewater plant design.
- Experience leading tasks on engineering consulting projects.
- Experience in planning and overseeing field work.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with change.
- Experience construction and commissioning of water/wastewater plant
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
