Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Applied Science Manager, you will:* Lead a cross-functional team of Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Software Development Engineers.* Define and deliver the science and engineering roadmap for shopping session understanding, translating business goals into agentic strategies and driving integration of Session Agent capabilities into advertising applications.* Hire and develop top talent, providing technical direction and career growth guidance to scientists and engineers within and across organizations.* Stay current on research advances, industry trends, and system architectures relevant to agentic AI and session understanding for SPB’s advertising business.

* M.S. in Computer Science, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline* Experience in managing a team of both applied scientists and engineers as a tech lead or manager for at least 3 years* Experience in building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale for at least 3 years

* Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline* Experience in building large-scale machine-learning models and infra for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization, or search, etc.* Experience developing and deploying Agentic AI or Generative AI (GenAI) solutions* The ability to communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to all levels of the organization* Experience in computational advertising
