Senior Platform Engineer

General Responsibilities:

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios

• Continuously improve software engineering practices

• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

• Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your solutions

• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

• Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity

• Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

• Provide support with test data conditioning

Communication/Influence

• This role is highly visible and works with internal Product, Client Development, Program, Engineering, external Partner and Third Party teams

• Must be able to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to leadership, business partners and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience

• Must possess strong reasoning skills, including the ability to quickly process information for effective problem solving and build buy-in for recommendations and decision

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)

• At least 2 years of experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Snowflake and Databricks including table structures, data loading/unloading, and performance optimization

• 2+ years of experience in Rest APIs

• 3+ years of experience with AWS

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
  

Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform EngineerThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
