The IT QA Director is responsible for defining and promoting a quality mindset and strategy across the organization. This position creates a strategic vision, matures, and directs quality assurance policies, program, and initiatives. It develops, implements, enforces, and improves upon quality standards, tools, and methods to assure quality across new and existing products and services. Strong working knowledge of best practices in QA is required.
Your team will consist of people managers and Individual contributors along with resources from our staffing partners. You need to have experience managing large diverse teams with a proven record of developing and growing a QA team. You need to be familiar with project management methodologies such as Agile, Kanban, waterfall, and development methodologies such as DevOps, automated testing, and continuous improvement.
1. Create & Implement a strategic vision, matures, and directs quality assurance policies, program, and initiatives
2. Develops, implements, enforces, and improves upon quality standards, tools, and methodologies
3. Ensure “check and balance” between Dev and QA
4. Performance of QA teams is constantly measured using productivity gain and defect leakage metrics
5. Increase QA efficiency through increased test automation and enabling best practice and standards
6. Promote and ensures continual service improvement and stat/data-based process improvements are implemented for existing QA processes
7. Direct management of IT QA team consisting of managers and individual contributors and staffing vendors
8. Partner with IT product and delivery teams to establish and execute a quality roadmap to support improved quality
9. Manage the operating budget and annual operating plans
10. Report on key metrics covering licensing utilization, financials, delivery, and quality1. Drive QA/Testing methodologies, best practices and tools
2. Proficiency in testing in Internal IT Applications (Sales, ERP, Reporting) with focus on automation
3. Working with varied Business and IT stakeholders and becoming their trusted advisor
4. Working in a matrix organization with competing priorities in a global delivery model6. Manage budgets and aggressive schedules/timelines
1. Minimum of 20 yrs experience directly managing large technology teams
2. 5-8 years (min) managing a successful QA/Testing department/team
3. Bachelors in Computer Science or related field, MBA will be a plus
