Position:
- The Vice President works with deal teams and the firm's clients to provide the knowledge of credit ratings/related methodologies and advise on deal structuring with the goal of credit ratings optimization
- The Vice President will initially partner with senior Ratings Advisory team members progressing to producing independent rating opinions and leading the execution of corporate ratings mandates for TD's clients
Position Summary
- Provides ratings indications on unrated issuers, analyzes the ratings implications of various capital structure and strategic changes on rated issuers.
- Advises on and reviews rating-specific content for client presentations as well as ratings agency presentations
- Keeps abreast of key market and rating agency-specific developments and produces thematic ratings-focused materials for clients and internal parties
- Develops and maintains ratings-focused internal models and templates
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders such as external clients, ratings agency personnel and internal constituents
- Assists with and eventually leads the ratings-related workstream of deal execution
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a credit ratings agency or in a corporate/investment banking role
- Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of business
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and to develop innovative solutions
- Adaptability, able to manage projects independently
- Series 7 and 79
The salary range listed reflects base compensation only. The total compensation package also includes incentive-based components.

- Develops transaction ideas and discusses appropriate context with senior coverage team members
- Develops revenue in all product areas and executes transactions
- Demonstrates relevant market / industry / product knowledge

- Maintains client relationships and keeps them informed as deals progress
- Keeps more senior M&A and coverage officers informed as deals progress/issues arise
- Liaises and/or interacts with clients at all levels (CFO, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, etc.)
- Liaises with clients primarily at CEO and CFO level
- Executes on deals, generating or contributing to increases in revenue levels
- Directs, trains, and develops team members to enable them to meet challenges department objectives and achieve full potential
- Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
- Maintains confidentiality of client information
- Accountable for providing expertise and support to senior coverage team members in execution of transactions and deal structure by providing expertise and knowledge of relevantmarkets/industries/products
- Developsrecommendations/ideasfor transactions and revenue generation, structures/delivers presentations, and manages deals/transactions as they progress/issues arise (escalating and keeping senior coverage officers informed as required)
- Liaises and maintains client relationships
- Acts as an experienced specialist for an assigned business or portfolio; role requires deep knowledge
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) orMathematics/Economics
