As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform/Data Protection and Recovery organization, you will utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities:
- Designs systems that can scale efficiently to handle increased load and demand. This includes capacity planning and performance optimization.
- Implements robust monitoring and observability practices to detect issues before they impact users. This includes setting up alerts, dashboards, and logging.
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
- Manages incidents, performs root cause analysis, and implements post-mortem processes to learn from failures and prevent them in the future.
- Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on Infrastructure Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience as Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with experience in Data Protection, Storage, Compute, or Network.
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Strong knowlDrives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applicationsedge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault
