Job Summary

As a Forest Resource Manager within Campbell Global you will be responsible for managing data, conducting analysis and providing support for business decisions related to timberland inventory and carbon accounting project development. This job also offers opportunities for collaboration with the forest Biometrician, engagement with various stakeholders and for Growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and process seller-provided inventory data for use in acquisition modeling and analysis.
  • Develop acquisition inventory verification design and participate in other due diligence efforts across US and international regions.
  • Work closely with Biometrician to review and analyze inventory and yield projections for use in harvest scheduling, carbon-focused strategic planning, and operational decision making.
  • Support efforts to assure inventory measurements and projections are providing accurate information, such as cutout analyses and re-cruise analysis.
  • Support annual carbon accounting analysis, process development and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical oversight and serve as internal project lead on carbon offset project inventory data collection, monitoring and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of carbon project feasibility analysis and project development.
  • Ensure that environmental or financial risk management reporting is conducted in a timely and professional manner to your supervisor and, if appropriate, local Safety Coordinator.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests in conjunction with management and team members.
  • Actively participate within the organization to ensure all timberland management investment services meet or exceed client commitments.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Master’s degree in Forestry, with concentration in biometrics or statistics and a minimum of three years related work experience
  • Have a demonstrated background in carbon-focused measurements and accounting methods. Must have good research and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment across multiple disciplines and across multiple locations.
  • Must have a working knowledge of forest inventory techniques and experience in inventory/ survey design.
  • Knowledge of the application of remote sensing in forestry.
  • Knowledge of common forest growth models and projection techniques used in the forest industry.
  • Knowledge of voluntary and compliance forest carbon offset protocols in the US and internationally.
  • Knowledge and aptitude in a structured programming language such as R, Python, Julia, C++, etc.
  • Experience using relational databases, e.g., SQL, to write/ design queries, analyze data, and create reports.
