24.06.2024

You have at least five years of experience in a technical role, preferably as a developer, working within an enterprise or directly with customers. You might have some experience as a developer advocate or have been doing advocacy tasks, and now looking to do it full-time. Although it is not mandatory, a general understanding of MongoDB would be a plus. However, you must have extensive experience with one major framework and a complementary programming language.

Your contributions to open-source projects or other code-sharing platforms demonstrate your ability and enthusiasm to help others get started or solve innovative problems.

As an effective teacher, you can explain complex issues in a simple, understandable manner. You will develop expertise in MongoDB, document modeling, and emerging topics across our industry while appreciating the key capabilities of our platform.

Our team is built to work together, share knowledge, and help each other grow. You will work with others at all levels, supporting peer reviews, building demos, delivering sessions, and creating content.

Position Expectations

  • Maintain and continually develop proficiency in one or more complementary programming languages to communicate with developers and contribute to product improvements effectively

  • Partner with our marketing teams to co-create compelling, authentic messaging and strategies that resonate with our target audiences
  • Support our community team to help with the growth of our MongoDB user groups (MUGs) and our champions and influencer programs across your region
Requirements
  • Expertise in building solutions with PHP technologies and a web development framework (e.g. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter)

  • Proficiency with an additional, complementary programming language
  • A prolific author of content (tutorials, how-to guides, readme) to help developers learn PHP
  • Shared code and content with the intent to support/enable other PHP developers
  • Great track record of presenting at events or via YouTube, webinars, or live streams on PHP topics
