Job Description

You will drive strong alignment with GEHC stakeholders and the US government on research priorities to expand our research network, strengthen our IP portfolio, develop new capabilities, oversee discovery, research and early development of differentiating technologies, optimizing systems and processes while maintaining safety & compliance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Create and drive technical strategy for the organization globally, lead a world-class team and anticipate future technology focus areas for GE HealthCare and our partners (NIH, DOD, etc.).
  • Be the liaison with the GE HealthCare CTOs in identifying critical technical capabilities and new applications for healthcare technologies.
  • Define the product and technical differentiation roadmap/strategy with the business technology and product management leaders.
  • Champion key strategic initiatives and drive synergies across domains to ensure technology innovation and create long term differentiation and value creation in the healthcare field.
  • Drive program accountability through this time of transformation, ensure execution on key customer projects; ensure key customer deliverables are met.
  • Lead with influence while navigating ambiguity, leveraging internal and external networks to secure external funding, create innovative new breakthroughs, and opportunities that drive strategic growth.
  • Own the vision, design, and stabilize the necessary organization structure.
  • Ensure metrics for organization are met, including financial, compliance, diversity and EHS.
  • Develop the next generation of technical leaders and researchers, implementing an ownership mentality, cultivating a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and trust.
  • Exemplify and champion the GE HealthCare’s Culture Operating Principles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 15 years of MedTech R&D experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years leading complex R&D programs and large multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed, global environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement key strategic initiatives, foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and formulate, interpret, and administer major technical programs.
  • Prior operations or site leadership experience that involve R&D lab infrastructure, EHS, Regulatory Compliance, licensing and certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing operating budgets.
  • Demonstrated track record of success leading, coaching, developing technical leaders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Strong ability to work in a global team setting with demonstrated effective skills in leading technical teams.
  • Experience accelerating technological innovations leveraging strong partnerships with technology providers, academia and governments in a variety of technical disciplines.
  • Experience in hospital operations and medtech technology adoption and integration in healthcare provider operations across a variety of clinical settings : eg: radiology, oncology, cardiology, critical care.
  • Be a transformative leader capable of influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to create a long-term vision, develop technology synergy, and roadmaps.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to inspire excellence and stimulate change.
