Reporting to the IT Manager, thewill be incharge of performing the installation, modification, testing, and maintaining data, voice and video communications equipment, and maintain network cabling infrastructure by performing the following duties:


: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks and data communications equipment such as switches and routers.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Wireless LAN equipment such as Wireless Controllers and Access Points.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing network operating systems, the network cabling infrastructure, and other telecom related components.
  • Helping existing LAN cabling and network infrastructure:
  • Maintains drawings of drops in the manufacturing floor and office areas.
  • Maintains an inventory of necessary LAN cables and network equipment.
  • Maintains IDF/MDF and telecom closets organized and clean.
  • Plans network installations by studying customer requests, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation on the site; preparing an installation diagram.
  • Coordinate LAN cabling installation with third party vendor or internal facilities resources.
  • Repair/Terminates network UTP cables (Cat5e/Cat6) as needed.
  • Ensures the network and all related equipment are in working order.
  • Works with IT support personnel to explore and solve network-related problems reported by end-users or thru proactive monitoring tools alerts.
  • Help IT Support personnel on desk side hardware moves, additions, and changes
  • Secures network systems by enforcing corporate policies and applying IT best practices standards.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree is preferred or equivalent experience and training.
  • Typically requires familiarity with LAN/WAN/WLAN and IP networks.
  • Knowledge of physical and rational LAN.
  • Knowledge of LAN architecture and its general interaction with clients and servers.
  • Knowledge of IP Telephony, network structured cabling and standards, network switching and routing, VPN.
  • CCNA Routing and Switching or other network certification such as Network+ desirable.
