As an Analyst in the Investment Banking EMEA FSG M&A team, you will play a central role in advising clients with respect to M&A transactions. In addition, you will have great exposure in the vast majority of the major M&A transactions that take place in EMEA and in a group that consistently ranks as one of the EMEA's pre-eminent M&A advisory franchises.

You will work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank and will get exposure to formal training, hands-on learning opportunities, continuous mentoring and feedback, and numerous development opportunities. You will develop strong skills in the major areas of investment banking and will be given the opportunity to develop into a senior officer who is capable of generating and executing their own transactions.

Job responsibilities

  • Work with clients in tandem with industry / country teams to effectively execute and drive M&A processes
  • Collaborate Closely with various industry, country and other product colleagues during origination and execution stages
  • Manage coordination from launch to signing, in close cooperation with other internal teams, including investor outreach, active communication with investors / management, and overall transaction management
  • Analyse the most suitable investor universe for each transaction and speak to investors as part of the outreach process, be it for bilateral partnerships or broader partner identifications, as well as speaking to investors on an ongoing basis to maintain dialogue
  • Support in the preparation of transaction marketing and process materials
  • Support in the final negotiations for transactions
  • Perform transaction execution specific responsibilities, for example, generally helping with designing, organising and project managing M&A process; participating in and contributing to M&A structuring discussions & negotiations; supporting due diligence, deal documentation and announcement preparation; regularly liaising with relevant counterparts at the client / other advisers
  • Perform a great variety of tasks, including many opportunities to ‘step-up’ given the team’s high deal flow and its flat hierarchical structure
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships acquired through transactions with select corporate clients and financial investors

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Full time investment banking experience
  • Strong interest, focus and understanding of M&A and M&A processes
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively organise and drive work streams
  • Desire to work across sectors and have exposure to lots of different types of transactions
  • Proficient technical ability and overall corporate finance proficiency
  • Ability to engage in client and investors communications, as well as dealing with clients and other transactional advisers
  • Ability to take ownership across a transaction, with exposure to industry, country, and product teams
  • Ability to show initiative and support across several transactions in parallel, managing time appropriately across competing demands

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Prior experience in communicating and/or executing transactions with financial sponsor involvement
  • Experience in Corporate Finance or M&A

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
