• Experienced in routing protocol stack development and network operating systems
• Understanding of the deployment of routing protocols in large scale networks with a proven ability to design routing protocols enhancements to solve networking challenges
• Diligent with an automation first mindset and experience with scripting languages and test frames works
• MS/BS degree in CS/EE/CE or technical equivalent

As a Senior Control Plane Engineer, you'll join an agile team engaged in the design, development and testing of the Control Plane required for the Cisco 8000 platforms utilizing experience listed in the basic and preferred qualifications listed below.

• 5+ years’ software development experience using C, C++ and/or Python
• 3+ years’ experience developing routing protocol stack in vendor NOS or in open-source networking stacks like FRR, Quagga

• Experience and/or knowledge of Segment Routing, L2VPN and EVPN technologies, BIER and Controller based Solutions
• Proficient in routing protocols and technologies including multicast routing (PIM, IGMPv2, IGMPv3, mVPN etc), BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and controller-based technologies
• IETF experience and influence in the industry
• Packet forwarding operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture
• Strong understanding of MPLS Technologies, including LDP, RSVP-TE
• Experience with MPLS based VPNs (MVPN, L3VPN, L2VPN)
• GIT, Jira, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline tools
• Virtualization and container technologies including KVM/Qemu, Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Strong performance tuning skills
