About the role

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will work alongside the R&D team to aid in the design process, manufacture components and build assemblies from design drawings, understand requirements, and come up with creative test scenarios in order to verify system functionality. Furthermore, they will read and execute manufacturing procedures and test protocols to ensure that internal documentation procedures are met while recording results. The individual will also evaluate, assemble, and maintain mechanical and electrical/electronic systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing design drawings and providing input on manufacturing feasibility.
  • Manufacturing components using machines and power tools.
  • Completing mechanical builds that include sheet metal, harnesses, electrical and mechanical components.
  • Building wire harnesses using wire cutters, crimp tools and soldering equipment.
  • Executing manual/automated test cases to ensure the design meets the requirements.
  • Documenting test results and participate in engineering report development.
  • Reading and understanding electrical/electronic schematics and design drawings for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing components, cabling, and assemblies.
  • Participating in mechanical and electrical/electronic prototype development.
  • Working with a cross-functional team to ensure project timelines are met.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or diploma in electro-technical, electronic, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience operating hand and power tools, soldering, brazing, drills, and fault-testing equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • An analytical and quantitative approach to work.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good surface mount hand soldering skills.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
  • Swagelok training qualifications for NPT and tube fittings, tube cutting, tube assemblies.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments with limited time constraints while working consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing priorities and unforeseen events.
  • Must be able to perform multiple high-level tasks within structured timelines.
