Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis is not a hands-on role, as you will divide team leadership (8-10 people) with a Tech Lead.While the Tech lead will focus most of his work on the technical side of leadership you will:- Lead a team of Back-End engineers working on several services of
- Ensure delivery is done according to commitments (time, scope, and quality), by monitoring progress, tracking dependencies, removing blockers for team members, and managing risks.
- Develop and grow your team members.
- Continuously work to increase your team focus and ability to deliver.
- Partner with your product counterparty and negotiate, agree, and plan the team’s scope and priorities.
- Translate day2day work of the team into clear reporting to upline managers with clear status on activities, decisions, and risks.
- Work with your peers (other Team Leads and Tech Leads) to improve processes and transversal ways of working.
- Grow your knowledge around our Data & AI business unit, and influence how we deliver value to customers.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Good level of proven experience working in complex systems in an enterprise context (5+ years as reference)
- Proven exposure to modern engineering practices (e.g. test automation, CI/CD, etc.) and complex release processes ( managing dependencies, coordinating with the Product team, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience in people management and delivery coordination.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience working with agile software development practices and adapting these practices to team reality.
- Ability to lead and drive collaboration within teams and across IBM.
- Bias towards action, and proactive to initiate and drive initiatives and problem-solving mindset.
- Able to handle uncertainty and bring clarity to the team.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in a remote environment (your team is distributed between PT and CZ, and you need to interface with teams spread worldwide)
- Experience building a SaaS product at Enterprise level.
- Experience organizing on-call rota schemes and providing support to Production.
- Experience working in collaborative and globally distributed environments.
- Leading organizational transformation, both technically and organizationally.
