Principal Electrical Engineer-Power
Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing, debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for ISG (Infrastructure Solution Group) Power solution development and be a Subject Matter Expert for power-related engagement in power technology internally and externally. You will work with platform teams and different function teams relating to power technology/topology, power supply development, issue triage and power-related application support.
You will:
Manage Power solution development to Support System development needs and requirements
Engage Technology partners on Proof of Concept, power application and technology trend to gain the leading edge advantage to build world-class power solutions
Work with Architecture/concept team on Power Supply features, new topology and applications for the future power application.
Provide support as Subject Matter Expert to support cross-function engagement.
Essential Requirements
8+ years experience in a server power supply related design field or equivalent skill
Experienced with analog and digital circuitry design in power application-related field and skilled in embedded system design using micro-controllers
Familiarity with Power topology and component applications such as semiconductors and magnetic applications
Experienced in dealing with relevant regulatory requirements
Excellent program managment, communication and presentation skills
Desirable Requirements
Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and simulation tools e.g. MATLAB, SPICE and allegro
