Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve products, techniques, procedures, and technologies. You will design and develop new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as current products modification and improvements based on in-service issues and market strategy. You are responsible for design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies and product improvements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical expertise as a team leader or member on a variety of projects and programs
  • Responsible for technical content of the deliverables, leads and represents the team in design reviews in PDR and CDR, reviews technical deliverables from the team including schedule and Cost
  • Ideates and leads transformational projects to execute work differently to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
  • Responsible for building relationships within the organization, customers, internal stakeholders, and leadership
  • Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives utilizing demonstrated experience in the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components
  • Stays current with relevant emerging technology
  • Actively participates in external forums, publishes whitepapers, and represents the organization, influences the ecosystem in the best interests of the organization
  • Advises and consults as technical expert to other technical and administrative personnel to drive and implement short and long-term projects
  • Estimates manpower requirements and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical requirements
  • Prepares comprehensive proposals and cost estimates, evaluates progress and results, and recommends and directs the implementation of major revisions in approaches and objectives; may set, modify, and/or negotiate schedule changes and dates
  • Champions initiatives to resolve critical processes and technological-related issues

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics packaging and PBA build processes

WE VALUE

  • Ability to apply advanced engineering and analytical concepts and techniques to highly complex technical projects
  • 5+ years of experience in the development of aircraft environment control systems
  • History of applied innovation, including development of packaging technology, patents, publication of industry papers or presentations
  • Experience with cost proposals and estimation process
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting or leading Root Cause Corrective Action activities
  • Experience with new product development in an aerospace environment
  • Experience with implementing methodologies to bring new technology to required Technical Readiness Levels
  • Experience working in global teams across time zones
