We provide clients with advice in relation to mergers and acquisitions, execution of equity and debt issuances, as well as strategic corporate finance advice.

As an Analyst / Associate within the Investment Funds team, you will be you will be a key player in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas (M&A, ECM, DCM), as well providing advice to the Boards of our existing client base across the full spectrum of corporate finance.

You will work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank and will get exposure to formal training, hands-on learning opportunities, continuous mentoring and feedback as well as numerous development opportunities. You will develop strong skills in the major areas of investment banking and will be given the opportunity to progress into a senior team member who is capable of originating and executing his/her own transactions.

Job responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior team members to originate, structure and execute investment banking transactions and deliver corporate finance advice. Specific responsibilities include:
    • Project managing investment banking transactions
    • Preparing financial models
    • Developing content for strategic meetings with clients
  • Liaising with relevant counterparts at the client, other advisers or regulators
  • Maintain regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
  • Develop relationships with existing/prospective corporate broking clients, asset managers and investors focusing on the UK Investment Funds sector
  • Liaise with J.P. Morgan product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM) and global sector coverage teams
  • Coordinate with specialist investment funds sales, trading and marketing teams

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Proven Investment Banking or Buy-Side experience, with a very strong preference for prior experience of listed investment funds
  • Strong financial modelling / analytical / numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to comfortably interact with c-suite clients in a professional and mature manner
  • Ability to react well to pressure whilst multitasking on numerous projects
  • Comfort in and commitment to strong teamwork environment
  • High level of attention to detail, proactivity and time management
  • Good sector knowledge and interest in the investment industry
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
