About the role:

The candidate will strategically partners with physician key opinion leaders (KOLs) to identify unmet medical needs to develop and/or disseminate the clinical and scientific evidence supporting key BSC Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx). This individual will create and support strategic clinical and scientific initiatives in support of investigator-led research, podiums, and scientific symposia to endorse BSC’s high growth adjacencies and key product portfolios. Additionally, a successful individual will establish strong collaborative relations with internal cross-functional partners (marketing, regulatory, market access, training, etc.) to reinforce commercialization and support product adoption through differentiated medical affairs efforts. The role will require travelling 25 percent of the time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a high level of expertise pertaining to BSC marketed products, as well as a solid knowledge base of current evidence landscape and clinical trends in coronary interventions, rhythm management, electrophysiology, and structural heart interventions.
  • Partner with key opinion leaders (KOL) to deepen the understanding of clinical needs and build the scientific story to align with the priorities defined in the global evidence strategy and country requirements.
  • Harness KOL inputs to influence internal strategies related to evidence gaps, clinical trial design, therapy development and medical education.
  • Provide KOLs with content development support for scientific and educational forums supporting BSC ICTx technologies.
  • Serve as an internal subject expert for clinical and scientific knowledge in the designated therapy areas for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish strong collaborative relations with internal cross-functional partners (marketing, regulatory, market access, training, etc.) to align and reinforce the clinical and commercial messaging on BSC therapies.
  • Develop and execute evidence generation strategies through ISR (Investigator Sponsored Research) programs.
  • Train and educate the commercial organization on key data releases in partnership with Marketing and Training teams.
  • Review and approve Promotional, Educational, Sales Support and Training (PSST) materials related to Boston Scientific ICTx products, services, and technologies.
  • Attend scientific conferences and programs in relevant therapeutic areas to maintain current knowledge.

Required

  • Master’s degree MD in Medicine or Pharmacology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in medical affairs with clinical research experience (medical devices, pharmaceutical or diagnostics).
  • Knowledge of clinical issues associated with coronary interventions, rhythm management, electrophysiology, and structural heart interventions, gained through direct or comparable relevant experience in a therapeutic area, scientific or from a clinical setting.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience of managing clinical projects
  • Sound knowledge of clinical research life cycle and statistical methods with an emphasis on publication planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience of strong interpersonal skills working effectively in a team/matrix environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong scientific temper and business acumen
  • Ability to convey complex medical concepts to a wide audience both internal and external, across multiple levels of seniority, through formal and informal presentations and written reports.
  • General, working knowledge of the regulations and standard practices governing clinical research.
