As part of EY Sustainability in MENA, you will join a growing team of local and international sustainability professionals in our Consulting practice. You will be driving the delivery and implementation of market-leading projects, consulting on key strategic issues in the region, building networks, as well as driving market activities and client-side delivery of sustainability-related products and services. There are a wide range of exciting projects that you will be able to get involved in, across energy, infrastructure, finance and government sectors.
Due to the significant economic growth opportunities in KSA, we require a sustainability transformation specialist focused on major project delivery, with proven experience integrating environmental and sustainability outcomes into the design, operational readiness, and operations of major projects, infrastructure and enterprises (public and private).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sustainability strategies, set targets and deliver upon them. This includes calculating baselines, developing roadmaps for change and executing large transformation programs
- Identify and quantify risks and opportunities, develop adaptation and mitigation plans, and support companies in executing these plans to increase business resilience and protect or create value
- Re-design target operating models and governance structures related to sustainability
- Design and execute on supplier engagement programs, enabling transparency, managing risks, and ensuring compliance
- Develop new business areas and products, meeting new client demands
- Design underlying data and digital architecture to support business operations and reporting
- Upskill people through the implementation of learning platforms.
Skills and attributes for success
As a Senior Manager, you would be expected to play a key role in the delivery of technical work. It is desirable that you bring the competencies that will allow you to do this, such as:
- Actively leverage your network, develop, and maintain management level clients to pro-actively generate and convert opportunities
- Deliver sustainability-related projects and/or programs of work
- Actively market yourself and our consulting team through seminars and articles in key publications and develop own thought leadership
- Develop own ideas on how to support clients in their sustainability journeys
- Support EY teams in their go-to-market activities (incl. events, thought leadership, project proposals)
- Deeply understand the complexities of climate change and sustainability
- Strong communication skills are essential to convey complex sustainability-related concepts to clients and internal teams in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to lead and inspire junior staff
- Commercial awareness of market opportunities.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested in individuals that have the following qualifications:
- Strong academic record and a degree in a relevant discipline
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Large network to potential clients in the Middle East, and specifically in KSA
- Demonstrable evidence of delivering sustainability related projects and/or programs of work.
- Strong management skills applied in diverse sets of stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of sustainability issues and their connection to business value
- Familiarity with sustainability best practices, including areas of transformation, supply chain, digitization, business model innovation, and value measurement
- Exceptional commercial acumen and strong leadership skills, coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment to achieve project success
- Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills to provide data-driven insights to clients
- Track record of success and relevant experience in sustainability / ESG at a top-tier consultancy, or other relevant organization
- A strong understanding of any, or a combination of the topics that we cover in our team as listed above.
