As a Plant Engineering Supervisor you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supervises craftspeople in the installation, operation, and performance of maintenance on equipment and/or facilities for Plant Engineering. Evaluates and provides proper tools, equipment and information including any changes that may affect employees work environment.
- Supervises production employees as needed to cover for when no other supervision is on site.
- Monitors and maintains a safe work environment by reviewing appropriate standards, MSHA/CALOSHA requirements, and recognizing and resolving safety-related problems.
- Complete administrative activities such as time / absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, coordinating daily work schedules, allocate work assignments, and regulate maintenance activities to meet specific plant engineering requirements.
- Ensure employees receive training as specified to their craft and business needs maintenance of equipment and effective utilization ofmaintenance/contractorwork force.
- This position requires working 3rd shift and extended/weekend hours.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND a minimum of one (1) year hands previous leadership, supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors and their teams
OR
- High School Diploma/ GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND a minimum of three (3) years previous leadership, supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors and their teams
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Strong hands-on mechanical equipment background
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft products and SAP PM
- Strong communication skills and effective management of systems
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience with MSHA/mining environment and processes.
