As a Senior Research Associate, you will support Chief Global Sustainable Investing Strategist in developing proprietary research and producing investment insights based on detailed macroeconomic and investment models; producing presentation and thought leadership papers to the Sustainability Insights Program; and supporting client engagement and advisory work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the Chief Global Sustainable Investing Strategist in building and launching the new Sustainability Insights Program.
- Conduct research and analysis on policies and regulations, changes in supply and demand, and market development, to model important price impacts arising from the major sustainability-related trends such as transition to a low carbon economy, carbon markets, climate resilience and nature risk, artificial intelligence and demographic change.
- Process and analyse economic, financial and sustainability-related data, develop macroeconomic and investment models that inform capital allocation, strategic asset allocation, and portfolio optimization considerations.
- Produce analysis and associated research publications outlining investment implications and recommendations under the program as well as in collaboration with other insights programs at JPMAM.
- Develop external facing presentations to share insights via JPMAM client events, industry conferences and events organized by clients.
- Initiate and execute on joint partnership projects with strategic clients and selected external institutions including but not limited to academia, industry associations.
- Partner closely with other investment teams across JPMAM in the execution of joint research work, and support client engagement and commercial activities wherever applicable.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills :
- Fast learner; strong initiative; desire and ability to analyze a variety of global sustainability-related trends at macro level, complex financial concepts, and investment themes.
- Strong analytical and research-oriented skills, including the ability to quickly develop opinions and judgments and to communicate them succinctly and confidently.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA is a plus) and PowerPoint. Coding (Python) and programming is an advantage.
- Familiarity with data sources such as Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
- Advanced acumen and familiarity with all asset classes, macroeconomics, and investment disciplines including research and portfolio management.
- Excellent attention to detail, resourceful and ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic, prioritizing responsibilities and managing time effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Vast experience in investment research, macroeconomic analysis, scientific research.
