Fault Management Engineer

The Fault Management Engineer assures End-to-end fault/incident & problem management with the main objective of resolution to SLA & OLA requirements. They solve the higher level of escalation in case of network incidents and are responsible for the resolution, analysis, and expertise in case of complex faults that require deep procedural and technical knowledge.

• Independently works within an overall MS context.• Works with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment, and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems. Controls technical resources for fault/incident & problem resolution. investigates and resolves Major service outages, reports Major service outages & Trouble Tickets to Service Level Agreements, and initiates and coordinates preventive maintenance tasks. Supports fault, incident & problem management tool development feedback.• Significantly contributes to MS process and practice improvements for the function, considering efficiency, effectiveness, risk, and quality.• Acts as a professional advisor and mentor for staff/work team/taskforces.• Contributes to the strategies and programs for the professional development of personnel in the function(s).• Technically approves and takes high-level responsibility for high-risk Methods of Procedures (MoPs) and change procedures.• Liaises, and takes leadership from an MS real-time and day-to-day, end-to-end delivery perspective, with counterparts in other MS functions, in other Nokia services groups (EG Field Force, Care), in 3rd party organizations, and/or in the customer's organization, on high impact individual or multiple recurrent incidents, or risks.• May act as the leader for an MS functional team, co-ordinating and allocating work, coaching and providing on-the-job training to other team members, and making recommendations in their formal performance assessment. May act as a "shift" leader of multiple functions.


Management experience / Achieved advanced skills and knowledge within a specific professional discipline involving the integration of theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents. Typically requires 7-9 years of relevant experience covering below and/or a graduate equivalent (or higher) degree.

  • Hands-on experience in L2 Level of Fault management & Configuration management with Routers/IP MW/SDH/DWDM in Nokia Vendor equipment and related NMS in the TXN network.
  • Hands-on L2 level experience with Nokia Routers.
  • Hands-on L2 level experience/ Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS Network Management and protocols: IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS – RSVP-TE, LDP, etc., L2/L3 VPN, QoS,
  • Knowledge of Nokia Routing platforms 7750, 7250, 7210, and 7705 & Hands-on CLI Execution Experience.
  • Hands-on L2 level experience & Leading role in complex troubleshooting cases in NOKIA/fALU Service Router
  • Hands-on experience in NFM_P & NFM-T Nokia NMS Platform.
  • Knowledge of RNC, MME, SGW , GGSN Connectivity & Call Flow.
  • Hands-on experience in Ticketing tools like ITSM Preferable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & Be an active participant when technical issues arise. Bridge Open for Running Fault in Network.
  • Preferably working in ISP/Telecom companies.
  • NRS1/ NRS2/CCNA certification/ITIL is an added advantage…
  • Should be ready to work in a 24x7 environment.
