This Senior Finance Manager role supports the Microsoft Advertising business, a growing $12b+ online advertising business that provides solutions for the world’s top marketers, agencies, content partners and brands.

As a member of the Advertising Controllership Team, your overall responsibilities will include ensuring financially compliant new business launches aka ‘Finance Readiness’ and ensuring complete and accurate financials for the global business.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 4+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 8+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Professional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalent.

Accounting IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Responsibilities

Prioritization

  • Leads Finance Readiness for select high impact business launches to ensure financially compliant launches in accordance with Microsoft Policy.
  • Drives rhythm of the business activities for area of responsibility including monthly close and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Supports the team in managing priorities and impact in a collaborative environment.

Partnership

  • Provides recommendations to team members and business leaders for systems and process optimization.
  • Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., key metrics, Finance and Accounting reporting requirements, rules, and regulations. Accounting, and control strategy) to multiple contexts and situations to evaluate results and asseses potential impacts of changes.
  • Develops new approaches to leverage best-in-class technology (e.g., Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence) to accomplish goals. Leads efforts to implement technology to increase productivity and to ensure desired results.
  • Manages stakeholder engagement across multiple teams to ensure a comprehensive, clear narrative and influences for desired results in a compelling and understandable way.

Protect

  • Contributes to accounting and financial compliance for Advertising SOX activities to ensure green audit results.
  • Implements accounting and reporting processes and ensures compliance with local legislations and statutory requirements. Advises and consults with peers and stakeholders regarding documentation, policy adherence, and sharing of financial data and information to minimize risk. Translates accounting, statutory, and regulatory changes to address impacts on business operations.
