Description
Duties associated with this position include conducting collaborative research on a variety of novel machine learning approaches and robotics platforms. A core component of such duties will include leveraging foundation models in the development of brand new learning-based control policies. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, vision-language-action models (VLAs), imitation learning, reinforcement learning and synthetic data. Part of this development will include informing data collection efforts, contributing to training and testing infrastructure, and remaining up to date on the latest literature.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or relevant degree.
  • Experience with generative models, e.g. LLMs, VLMs, VLAs, diffusion models, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with learning-based robot control policies
  • Experience with robot manipulation
  • Consistent track record of researching, inventing and/or shipping advanced machine learning models
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
