We are expanding our Global footprint into Prague and as we build out our Product & Engineering teams, we are looking for a Manager of Software Engineering. In this role you'll lead our DevOps team in Prague and deliver state-of-the-art cloud applications hosted in AWS. As a manager in our Platform Delivery team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile group that plays a critical role in the organization. This team works cross-functionally across engineering departments to ensure the timely release of multiple products. You will directly supervise Prague-based individual contributors and help set priorities for the team. Additionally, you’ll still have plenty of time for hands-on contribution to our SaaS platform.
What does your day-to-day look like?
Lead a 4-5 person DevOps team to continuously improve our DevOps tooling and SaaS environments
Define and prioritize tasks
Guide engineering staff on best practices
Monitor stability and performance of our cloud platform
Collaborate with other teams to deliver software running on AWS
Create and contribute to open source tooling such ansible to ship software better and faster
Provide documentation and training for tooling
Who are you?
At least 3 years experience working with a SaaS platform
Collaborates well in a team environment
Systematic problem-solving approach
Likes to automate things
Wants to make life easier for our development teams
Proficient programmer in at least one of: Python, Ruby, Javascript, Java
Experience training and mentoring across teams
Desire to constantly expand technology skill set
What does our Software Stack look like?
A lot of our tools are written in Python and Ruby
Our development teams mostly use Java
We manage our SaaS infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
We use Spinnaker and Ansible to deploy apps to EC2
We use Kubernetes to host a significant portion of our SaaS platform
We use a wide variety of storage backends, such as Redis, PostgreSQL & Cassandra
We use Jenkins to build everything, creating jobs via the Jobs DSL and Jenkins Pipelines to codify the entire build and deploy process
