Senior Finance Consultant with German

Hybrid model: 2 days office/3 days remote

As part of our EY GDS Poland - Finance Consulting Practice. As a finance consultant, you will have an exciting opportunity to support our clients in creating and maintaining high-quality financial reporting. This includes working on client projects within an SAP environment, where you will improve business processes and functions through advanced data analysis. You will also develop and implement new IT-based solutions in the area of data analytics. Furthermore, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs, execute the plans, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful outcomes.

Your key responsibilities

  • Finance and Reporting: Support the clients with a broad portfolio of services in the accounting and transaction area (accounting, financial accounting, reporting) and assist with challenges in the consolidation and reporting environment
  • Accounting Standards: Assess the impact of different standards (HGB, IFRS, US GAAP) on complex accounting and accounting issues, e.g. leasing contracts or revenue recognition
  • Digitalization of financial processes : work in teams that combine accounting expertise with IT and process competence, supporting projects in the SAP environment (FI/CO, SD, MM, SEM-BCS, BW and S/4HANA). Your role will also include improving business processes and functions through mass data analysis, developing and implementing new IT-based solutions using new technologies for data collection, extraction and processing.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Strong understanding of financial reports and statements and knowledge of finance consolidation
  • Proficiency in the SAP environment (FI/CO, SD, MM, SEM-BCS, BW and S/4HANA) and implementation skills in SAP BCS BW4HANA (alternatively SAP SEM BCS) and / or SAP Group Reporting
  • Experience with data migration for prior periods including postings and basic understanding of financial statements
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, HGB)
  • Expertise in finance and accounting functions in at least two domains – Record to report (RTR), Procure to pay (PTP), Order to cash (OTC)
  • Ability to provide accounting advice and guidance on various process transition related topics

Good to have experience / exposure (the below skills are an added advantage for candidates):

  • Knowledge of the following solutions: reporting (PowerBI), ERP (SAP, Dynamics), platforms for finance (Tagetik, Anaplan, OneStream)
  • Translate business requirements to technical language and model
  • Good experience in Chart of accounts (CoA) design
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure
  • Managing / supervising teams of people on project work
  • Open to travel (Domestic & International)

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Master degree in Finance and Accounting or any other related
  • 5+ years of total consulting experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in Business Process Transition and Business Finance Transformation
