This is an area that has seen substantial investment, focused on technology, knowledge and development for assurance professionals. That could mean developing a deep professional knowledge base in one area, or diversifying to audit in other markets such as wealth and asset management, banking, private equity and capital markets.

Your key responsibilities

  • Performing complex and specific audit procedures, while developing effective, client-focused audit strategies
  • Coaching and managing a driven team of audit professional, facilitating them to have the information, tools and opportunities they need to grow
  • Proactively building relationships that support our ability to provide tailored services that meet a wide range of assurance needs and contribute to new business development
  • Identifying and reacting to potential risks and developing new ways to improve our products and processes that promote growth and increase revenue
  • Continually updating your understanding of business trends and emerging technologies to maintain your reputation as a trusted business advisor

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, supported by significant work experience as an auditor
  • A record of excellence in serving clients across the insurance industry
  • A CPA certification in the work state location
  • Engagement management, execution and reporting skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients with a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Confidence in your ability to prioritize when managing multiple project simultaneously
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations

Ideally you'll also have

  • A firm understanding of engagement economics
  • A proven ability to build a network of contacts and mutual business relationships

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $97,200 to $178,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $116,700 to $202,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
