Key job responsibilities
• Work with the Design Engineering team to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges early in product development by enforcing DFM, DFA and DFT principles
• Define manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews to ensure all stakeholder deliverables are complete to enable operational excellence and efficiency.
• Investigate and develop new manufacturing technology and methodologies to enhance product quality, reliability, and performance.
• Drive closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds. Work within Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to implement and optimize manufacturing yields for production ramp.
• Investigate failures in production, test, and integration. Identify and mitigate underlying root causes to prevent reoccurrence and foster continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular build quality reviews to ensure that design intent is achieved. Identify opportunities for risk reduction, simplification, and manufacturing process improvements.
• Deliver manufacturing processes capabilities including equipment capability, quality controls, materials characterization, and workmanship standards
• Actively monitor the success of products and processes through production ramp. Provide regular status reports of PCBAs progress from design to production.
• Contain suspect or known non-conforming materials and assemblies. Provide direction to contract manufacturing, suppliers, and engineers to manage quarantine and rework activities.Export Control Requirement:A day in the life
Come solve the difficult and rewarding engineering challenges in developing a highly reliable, power efficient, performant, low-cost satellite bus and payload. As a Sr. PCBA Manufacturing Engineer, you will work across design engineering, supply-chain, quality, and our manufacturing partners to drive Project Kuiper electrical sub-system and PCBA manufacturing and delivery. You must have the ability to dive deep on the details to identify, understand and solve difficult technical problems and also utilize a system level approach to prioritize issues for whole program. You use data to drive manufacturability, reliability, and quality objectives in design and development teams.
