The Sec & Derivative Intermediate Assoc Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the clearance, settlement and investigation of client commodity and derivatives transactions.Responsibilities:
- Utilize basic industry and business knowledge to conduct analyses of hedge funds and other counterparty activities
- Review and analyze hedge fund activities, procedures to reconcile cash/holdings and pricing
- Accurate and timely processing of invoicing/payments of all transactions and according to their legal agreements
- Provide support by performing invoicing as well as pre and post settlement reconciliations
- Interact with external counterparties to resolve discrepancies
- Interact with internal stakeholders as required including front office, middle office, or confirmations as needed to resolve discrepancies
- Provide in depth analysis of variances between booked and client amounts
- Participate in team and/or individual projects
- Identify optimization and time saving opportunities
- Work with other teams across the company to implement and improve processes and systems supporting the activities above
- Support implementation of commodity settlement processing improvements
- Assist with identifying policy gaps and formulating policies that streamline related work processes
- Develop and use knowledge of commodities, processing practices and standards
- Provide informal guidance or on the job training to lower level/new settlement processing team members when required
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Recommended Financial settlement experience
- Business oriented professional with strong intellect who can problem solve and perform complex analysis
- Detail orientated self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills who can effectively manage multiple assignments
- Ability to work independently
- Organized individual who can plan and adjust to the timing challenges of multiple deadlines
- Work in a team environment to achieve goals
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
