Job responsibilities

  • Analyze trademark search results and provide clearance for use of trademarks globally
  • Manage prosecution and enforcement for a global trademark portfolio across multiple brands
  • Assist with copyright matters and use of third party content
  • Collaborate across legal teams to provide expert legal advice to all lines of business on trademark and copyright related inquiries
  • Draft, review, and negotiate IP provisions across various agreements, including trademark and copyright licenses, marketing and branding agreements, and intellectual property acquisition and settlement agreements
  • Review, interpret, and analyze IP agreements, advising clients and partners on IP rights and responsibilities related to those agreements, including in light of JPMorgan Chase policies and regulatory guidance
  • Provide training and support to the organization on IP-related legal issues
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and monitor their performance and costs
  • Assist with trademark and copyright litigation

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 1 to 4 years of legal experience with a strong interest in and desire to develop intellectual property law skills, specifically within the trademark and copyright practice
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Proven ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems, and provide practical, business-oriented solutions
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel and management, including senior executives
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, handle deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus across a global matrix organization
