JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be able to draw from previous construction or engineering management experience to lead Building Automation Controls, Fire Alarm, Security and systems installations of various sizes. You will manage customer relationships of these systems. You will work in commercial environments (high rise buildings, airports, corporate campus’s) as well as institutional environments (schools, hospitals) in both new construction and retrofit projects. As a Honeywell Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the installation, as well as creating and managing project schedules, financial plans, staffing plans, project implementation and close-out documentation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow the business, manage change, and satisfy customers by building effective team relationships.
  • Be a self-starter and work multiple projects simultaneously in a lean administrative environment.
  • Responsible for Coordination, plan, schedule and track in detail the implementation of projects including the cost, schedule and performance, status of projects and budgets, develops, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Act as primary customer contact for project activities, leading project review sessions with customer to manage subcontractors to efficiently and effectively complete the project on time, ahead of schedule and with a satisfied customer.
  • Responsible for field execution, subcontract, schedule and supervise the activities of subcontractor’s coordination with subcontractors/vendors as applicable and work with customers/authorities/jurisdictions to obtain completion sign-off.
  • Be familiar with the construction dispute resolution process and use your knowledge of contract documents, labor laws, construction contracts, and construction administration to minimize risk.
  • Anticipate, recognize, and negotiate changes from documented scope of work
  • Document professional effective communication both internally and externally
  • Direct all phases of projects/programs from inception through completion
  • Provide accurate forecasts for revenue and resource requirements to leadership
  • Manages billings and collections. Completes project billings in a timely and accurate format to the client.
  • Maintains profitability goals and positive cash flow
  • Manage assigned technician work force, supports sales, estimating and customer acquisition
  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer needs
  • Ensures project document controls are following contract requirements and Honeywell standards
  • Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques
  • Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes
  • Support the sales team with accurate estimates and risk assessment
  • Performance management and development of direct reports
  • Able to work flexible hours to accommodate project construction schedules and requirements (which may include
  • weekends and evenings)
  • Responsible for Health, safety and statutory compliance of your team

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years technical or project management experience in one or more of the following areas: Building Automation
    Controls, Fire Alarm systems, or Security industry
  • Experience with Project Planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera
  • 2 years’ experience with project financial controls, contracting and project scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
  • Understand low voltage electrical circuitry, trouble-shooting, construction environments and safe work practices
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record


Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Construction Management
Experience in mechanical/electrical HVAC equipment and systems, EMCS HVAC control systems industry.
