What You'll Do- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to determine product roadmap that aligns with the broader company vision

- Grow, coach, and develop a team of software engineers
- Recruit high-quality engineering talent for the team
- Help define the engineering culture and uphold the processes that will shape the future of the team
- Help define the future of local commerce as Eats expands beyond food delivery.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years experience minimum with direct people management, including growing and mentoring junior and senior engineers
- Customer-focused and experience working on a product team, shipping products to end-users
- Significant experience building and operating critical high-scale systems
- Phenomenal management and team development skills: ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and transparent feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results
- Expertise and curiosity about growing teams: interviewing junior and senior engineers, collaborating with a recruiting team, efficiently onboarding new team members
- Good software engineering methodology: meaningful and deeply-rooted opinions about testing and code quality, ability to make sound quality/speed trade-offs
- Outstanding technical skills in backend engineering: Uber managers can lead from the front when the situation calls for it
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with e-commerce, grocery, or catalog
- Experience in integration with third-party APIs and develop high-quality external APIs
- Proficient with AB testing and experimentation.
- Have proven track record working across an organization not just across teams.
