Global Risk Review (GRR)
Reporting to the Head of ERPR, the Risk Review Senior Officer is responsible for independently managing all aspects of assignedReview Entities. Responsibilities include execution of Business Monitoring (BM) and Reviews in accordance with theand ERPR Methodology. In particular, the role involvesmonitoring andthe effectiveness ofassigned Review Entities, proposingthrough continuousand corrective action follow-up where applicable.
Developmental opportunities include experience in a high visibility, dynamic function; exposure to Business and Risk senior management; leadership responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate the effectiveness and adherence to regulatory expectations of key enterprise risk management programs such as risk appetite and limits, enterprise risk analytics, risk identification, and climate risk, and their application across Businesses and Material Legal Entities
- Manage assigned Review Entities through quarterly Business Monitoring (BM) and periodic Reviews
- Evaluate adherence to policies, standards, and procedures of assigned Review Entities to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvement
- Review the quality of risk management, including identification, measurement, monitoring, controlling and reporting of financial and non-financial material and emerging risks
- Assess Business and Risk staffing levels to determine the impact on assigned Review Entities
- Prepare Risk Assessment Documents in accordance with and at the quality standards required by the GRR Manual and ERPR Methodology
- Evaluate the appropriateness of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) resulting from Reviews or BM, and subsequent validation of those CAPs after implementation by management
- Proactively communicate to the Head of ERPR and GRR Senior Management any concerns and/or emerging risks that may impact the assigned Review Entities
- Assess risk decisions, demonstrating consideration of the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and policy
- Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalations, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
- Regularly interface with senior Business and Risk managers
- Travel required (up to 20%)
Knowledge/Experience:
- Demonstrable financial services experience including 10+ years in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Internal Audit or similar field with expertise in risk and controls
- Understanding of US prudential regulations and guidelines, regulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is highly desirable
- Expertise in credit, market, or liquidity risk management and associated processes for one or more products and lending areas
- Overall understanding of financial and non-financial risk categories, including operational risk and other multiple risk disciplines
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues
- Project management skills with the ability to coordinate and manage large review teams in multiple locations
- Knowledge of Citi's organization including operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks and controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Education:
- BA/BSc or higher in business, finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Senior Credit Officer qualification preferred
