Join our Penang and Ipoh office Finance team and you will help enable EY client account teams and management to run the business effectively. You’ll help to improve engagement profitability, manage enterprise-wide risk and support market development activities. You will support EY planning, reporting and forecasting and analysis, or help EY people manage day-to-day activities, such as managing engagements, process and auditing time and expense or invoice processing. You’ll also work with other parts of our organization, sharing your financial experience and insights to achieve specific goals. You’ll get all the support you need to stay on top of regulations — and the advice and help you‘ll need to meet your own professional goals.

Your key responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations; Account Receivable, Account Payable, billing, monitoring funds, month end closing and budget planning.
  • Support the firm’s financial planning and forecasting, reporting and analysis for leader’s review and approval.
  • Conduct performance analysis to facilitate better understanding on business performance.
  • Ensure timely month-end closing as well as accrual of expenses.
  • Support the formulation and implementation of accounting and internal control guidance and processes.
  • Lead and undertake ad-hoc financial reporting and projects as assigned.
  • Build relationships and stay connected with the business and functional experts to improve the process and quality of deliverables.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance to accounting principles.
  • Manage and supervise the Finance team, foster staff performance and development management, coaching and teamwork.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience, preferably in functional finance operations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across all levels
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, attend to multiple demands and shift priorities
