• As the Sr Dir. Retail, you will lead a team driving digital technology transformation in partnership with our clients delivering outstanding results and KPI’s.• The Sr Dir. Retail will establish a multi-year strategy to accelerate the adoption of PayPal’s product and services within the Vertical and cross-sell on margin accretive products to help grow TM and expand the base.

Responsibilities:

  • Will drive product portfolio distribution and prioritized market coverage to identify key strategic initiatives that enable flywheel synergies between branded and unbranded;

  • Will refine the enterprise operating model by creating playbooks to execute for emerging markets, merchants and consumers;

  • The Sr Dir. Retail will operate with a General Manager mindset to deliver the required vertical P&L outputs having ultimate responsibility for the direct and indirect vertical team

  • Will demonstrate ambassadorial leadership internally and externally – delivering thought leadership to Industry forums and building B2B and B2C conversation campaigns around the Retail Vertical.

  • Lead a team, that is aligned with the vision and values of PayPal and focused on value creation for our clients and partners. Coach and enable the team to exceed objectives and outcomes through creating an environment of adapting and learning. Attract and retain talent and invest in the growth of individuals.

  • Inspire the team to develop relationship and credibility required to effectively convey the value of PayPal’s solutions and vision to C-level executives and negotiate favorable commercial terms, contracts and agreements that create sustainable, long-term value for all parties.

  • Lead the development and dynamic strategic plan for our strategic clients, detailing insights and opportunities that align with our clients’ priorities. Coordinate and lead the impact and delivery of a diverse set of experts and stakeholders to achieve the client’s goals, through driving accountability to deliver in line with expectations. Anticipate future needs through deep strategic alignment and executive to executive alignment.

  • Lead strategy with key internal and external partners, to ensure that there is a distinct vertical focus, with commercial and technical decision makers fully aligned so that joint investment plans grow sales and partner impact is leveraged through deep relationships, industry influence and domain expertise.

  • Proactively solicit feedback on client needs, products and features that are critical for ourclients. Have

  • Engage in strategic discussions to transform customer business models, that in turn transforms, their customer experience andprofitability. Leverageunique insights and services that create value added services for or clients

  • Proactively owns and elevates a transformative customer stakeholder engagement strategy to foster customer trust and brand growth andloyalty. Defineand execute governance models to ensure mapping across seniority levels.

  • Owns the development of business transformation and co-innovations strategy for the client portfolio

  • Earns and maintains status as thoughts leader and trusted advisor to assigned accounts C-level business decision makers by bringing innovative ideas and narratives. Create and qualifies new opportunities by identifying highly strategic opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in sales, business development or relationship management with e-commerce and/or channel partners.

  • 10+ years’ experience in e-commerce, merchant services, and/or acquiring industry. Familiarity with e-commerce technology preferred.

  • Deep experience in developing, leading, and a highly successful commercial team in multiple geographies and markets.

  • Strong knowledge of payments industry, PayPal products, our competitors, and geographic nuances to inform a winning strategy.

  • Deep customer insights on leading payment needs/requirements, growing markets and customers and key customer touch points across the sales segments.

  • Experience of working across geographies, regions and functional groups to achieve common objectives serve as part of a collaborative, hands-on executive team.

  • Demonstrated record of executing against goals with a true executive mindset (e.g., builds a disciplined environment, knows when to get in the details vs. delegate)

  • Business acumen and a strong understanding of product strategy. You excel at identifying business opportunities and navigating commercial challenges.

  • Distinctive problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capabilities, and experience building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate, present, and craft compelling narratives to influence internal and external technical and business stakeholders at C-suite levels and across diverse teams at all levels.

  • Deep comfort operating in the ambiguity of an ever-evolving product that operates at scale globally.

  • BS/BA required, MBA or Master’s degree a plus
