The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Energy Trading and Risk Management systems, with a focus on architecture, design, and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of the energy markets, risk management practices, and the technical skills to develop and maintain robust AWS / ETRM solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of AWS Solution Architecture, focusing on databases, data warehouses, ETL processes, integrations, and serverless technologies.
- Design and implement ETRM systems to support energy trading and risk management activities.
- Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of ETRM systems.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for ETRM architecture.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the energy sector.
To qualify for this role you must have:
- Extensive experience with AWS Solution Architecture, with a focus on databases, data warehouses, ETL processes, integrations, and serverless technologies.
- Proven experience as an ETRM Architect or similar role in the energy sector.
- In-depth knowledge of energy trading, risk management, and ETRM systems.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and risk management principles.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Virtuosic diagramming abilities
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel, as needed, to meet client needs and project commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific ETRM platforms (e.g., OpenLink, Allegro, Endur).
- Knowledge of cloud computing and modern data architectures.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $68,000 to $132,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
