Key Responsibilities:

Actuarial Manager – Life Insurance

  1. Add value to clients by highlighting and articulating the wider business implications of an actuarial project in one or more fields of expertise above
  2. Leverage knowledge or prior experience to evaluate alternative strategies and to develop, present and defend logical conclusions, recommendations and implementation strategies/plans
  3. Contribute to capability development and actuarial knowledge base through feeding back best practices and redefining tools and techniques as appropriate
  4. Apply actuarial knowledge and understanding of business issues to produce work products across all phases of a project
  5. Articulate logical steps to tackle new questions and challenges
  6. Coach and provide guidance to team members and review their work
  7. Develop and maintain effective relationships with client
  8. Identify needs and priorities of existing clients in order to expand consulting opportunities
  9. Articulate the business case for the value-added or benefits realized from a project
  10. Play a leading role in successful proposal activities

Senior Actuarial Associate / Actuarial Associate – Life Insurance

  1. Deliver work products for at least one phase of an actuarial project in one or more fields of expertise above
  2. Complete allocated tasks efficiently while demonstrating professional judgment in seeking assistance, discussing ideas and resolving issues
  3. Deliver work products to support the development of project proposals, business plan for a new service or product or a large account management strategy
  4. Understand and apply appropriate EY methods and tools (or recognized equivalent) in completing assignments
  5. Provide guidance to junior team members and review their work
  6. Perform data checks through the use of reconciliations, reasonableness checks and summaries.
  7. Follow up issues with clients
  8. Identify potential opportunities for EY to help client, and refer these to appropriate team members
  9. Apply knowledge to meet client needs
  10. Build relationships with colleagues outside primary area of expertise to gain perspective across Consulting

Requirements:

  1. University / College graduate with at least 2 and 5 years of insurance experience in an actuarial and/or risk-related role for Senior Associate and Manager respectively
  2. Candidates with less experience would be considered as Associate
  3. Good progress in actuarial professional examination for Senior Associate, attained or close to attaining Fellowship in actuarial professional examination for Manager
  4. Managerial experience is an advantage for Manager
  5. Good project management, communication and people skill
  6. Proficiency in MS Office
  7. Knowledge in insurance financial reporting basis, e.g., IFRS, local statutory basis, Solvency II, RBC, is preferred
  8. Proficiency in actuarial software, e.g., Prophet, AXIS, is an advantage
  9. Good command of spoken and written English
  10. Good command of spoken Mandarin and written Chinese is preferred
