As a Retirement Consultant within JPMorgan Wealth Management, you will actively engage with both prospective and existing clients through a variety of phone and digital collaboration tools. You will be part of a collaborative team environment responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise in the financial retirement space including deep knowledge regarding ERISA rules, Department of Labor and Best Interest rules. You will have the ability to simplify financial concepts, build rapport and credibility with prospects and clients, specialize in helping clients navigate the complex retirement landscape, and help clients understand their options to achieving their retirement goals.

Job responsibilities:

  • Engage clients in retirement discussions to better understand their retirement questions and longer-term goals resulting in referrals to grow business with the firm.
  • Client Experience – provide exceptional service and flawless execution on all service requests and inquiries, such as: understanding their digital experience, where to find forms, questions on equity holdings, and transacting on shares
  • Education – become an expert in the different types of retirement accounts and products and be able to articulate these nuances in a professional, easy-to-understand format both written and verbally
  • Business Development – be able to identify potential business opportunities between J.P. Morgan and the client to engage in broader wealth management products/services. You will serve as the gateway to broader financial solutions available.
  • Market Partnership – effectively collaborate with respective client-facing teams and internal business groups to deliver and execute client transactions
  • Risk & Controls – adhere to and maintain the firm’s controls, policies, procedures, and FINRA regulations. This will include monitoring and adhering to certain SLAs and KPIs
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills qualifications:

  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials, Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required for the position.
  • CRPC (Chartered Retirement Planning Counsellor) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Designation, or required to obtain designation within 120 days of start date.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization with the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines involving multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly identify factual retirement options/solutions to help client make the best-informed decision with the facts at hand to meet their retirement goals.
  • A “solution-oriented” mindset to educate clients on retirement options as well as connecting clients and prospects to other channels in the firm to retain, grow business with client.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while exceeding performance metrics.
  • A passion to make outreach to client/prospects that have inquired about our retirement services or lists of individuals who have recently separated from their place of employment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills qualifications:

  • Strong background in Individual retirement products and technical knowledge of retirement accounts and how they work.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, Department of Labor, Best Interest rules, Managed Accounts and Employee Benefit Programs
  • 2+ years’ experience with Client Service / Contact Center solutions
  • 2+ years’ experience with CRM and help desk software
  • Exposure to a wide array of financial products
  • University undergraduate degree or equivalent
