Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in embedded software development and system design
  • 3+ years of experience in SW / HW interfaces, simulations, and systems bring-up

Other Qualifications

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 8+ years technical experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Python, andrust
  • Proficiency in embedded software development and kernel expertise
  • Competent systems design sense

Responsibilities
  • Drive the design and architecture of the core DPU runtime software, emphasizing compute use-cases
  • Implement advanced operating system features focusing on high reliability and low latency providing advantages to Azure's cloud
  • Collaborate with partner teams to define DPU-based platforms that meet Azure’s high standards of reliability, performance, and security
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, promoting adoption of best practices in embedded software design
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity within the team
