The types of project you’ll contribute towards may include:
- IPO’s and listings
- Inversions, take-overs and cross-border mergers
- International reorganisations and restructurings
- Property transactions
- Real estate and share fund transactions
- Financial service transactions
- Due diligence
- Liaising with HMRC Stamp Taxes
You’ll need to proactively maintain your technical knowledge by keeping abreast of stamp tax developments so that you can better advise our clients and in return we’ll provide investment in the right sort of training and offer you the opportunities on projects and assignments that will develop and challenge you so that you’re in the best place to further develop as tax professional.
Your key responsibilities
You will contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services to the client, building and maintaining tax relationships with clients to provide high levels of client service.
- Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
- High level management of the successful delivery of projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focused approach taken
- Managing engagement budgets to ensure profitability
- Overall responsibility of quality of client service
- Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients
- Contribute to successfully extracting maximum value for both EY and clients from the tax services delivered whilst managing risk appropriately for both client and the firm
- Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
Skills and attributes for success
- Experienced tax/legal practitioner with reviewing skills and expertise in Stamp Taxes
- Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
- Business development skills, able to identify new opportunities to sell work
- Client driven and strategically and commercially aware
- Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
- Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
- Communicates complex messages clearly with integrity
- Insightful and brings experience and market knowledge to the table
- Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
- Strong and motivated team player
- Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
To qualify for the role you must have
- ACA/ATT/CTA or international equivalent / Law qualification
- Stamp Tax experience
- Graduate/Graduate calibre or equivalent work experience
