The hardware development team is a collaborative, multidisciplinary group focused on designing groundbreaking metrology products. Design prototypes, deploy state-of-the-art mechatronics, and perform the first principal analysis for sizing components. Release the complete documentation package and work with the new product group to generate the necessary documentation. Assist the program manager with inputs to the program schedules and evaluate skill set requirements and material cost. Provide periodic updates to management. Participate in establishing a roadmap for next-generation electro-mechanical systems.

Job Description

Mechatronics systems design engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team that develops metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry to enable our customers to solve very challenging requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
  • Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab.
  • Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.
  • Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting. Good understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, signal processing, and its application to control and characterize mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of numerical optimization and image processing a plus.
  • Strong experience with experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation to retire design risks.
  • Basic/Intermediate knowledge of precision machine design.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on-the-job training.
  • Work closely with the customer support organization

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. with 1+ years experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years experience, preferably in semiconductor product development.

Degree in related fields of robotics, control systems, electrical, and mechanical engineering
