As a Vice President Data Analyst you will work in a, develop, and explore new AI-powered tools to redefine deal flow and in-life deal support.
Job responsibilities
- Analyze diverse datasets to uncover key insights that support active deals, client discussions, and deal pipeline opportunities.
- Build quick, ad hoc Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to demonstrate the potential of data-driven solutions for investment banking challenges.
- Understand financial and market data within the broader context of investment banking workflows and client needs.
- Present insights in clear, concise, and visually impactful ways to bankers and clients, facilitating decision-making and deal strategies.
- Work hand-in-hand with investment bankers to ideate and design data analytics and AI solutions tailored to their specific deal and client needs.
- Partner with AI/ML teams to translate your insights and prototypes into scalable solutions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in Python and data analytics libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, PySpark).
- Strong skills in SQL and working with relational databases
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau , Power BI , or similar.
- Understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, and working with large datasets.
- Solid foundation in software engineering principles, including code modularity, documentation, versioning and adherence to best practices ensuring maintainable and scalable code development.
- Strong problem-solving ability, with experience identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights from complex data.
- Creative thinker who can build innovative solutions to support live deals and deal flow.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with a keen ability to work in close partnership with bankers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to present findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with precision and focus.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with financial concepts, markets, and deal structures (e.g., ECM, DCM, M&A).
- Prior experience working in or closely with investment banking teams is a significant advantage, though not mandatory.
