The Rail Combined Service Route CSR Modeler / Sr Tecnician role is a key project delivery role drawing on a broad knowledge of Rail Systems, services and utilities, you will liaise with the client, project manager, key discipline and technical leads to deliver to project and client requirements. In your role you will work with the Design Manager in identifying and managing risks associated with the impact of utilities due to project work and liaise with Rail Systems discipline leads and utility stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are being met.
KEY EXPECTATIONS:
- The primary responsibilities of the role are:
- Develop with support and some guidance of senior engineers:
- Design documentation, reports and specification of Engineering solutions for Rail Combined Service Route (CSR) in response to a client’s brief
- Technical input and advice with respect to Rail CSR infrastructure in accordance with relevant local and Australian Standards, including Rail Operator standards (MTM, VicTrack & V/Line)
- Design and documentation for trenches, ULX’s (underline crossing), URX’s (under-road crossings), pit details, pit schedules and main CSR routes
- Design and drafting of CSR routes with documentation to VRIOGS drawings standards
- Provide with limited guidance, coordination and communication of Rail CSR designs with other disciplines.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and clients, both internal and external to support successful project outcomes
- Provide inputs on progress of your work to the project/design manager to support the control/reporting of project
- Maintain competency in the field of Rail CSR engineering and stay up-to-date with contemporary practice and trends in the industry.
- Take an active role in your technical development and your peers
- Participate in liaison with clients and contractors
- Provide assistance in the design and project management of CSR packages
- Practice ethically and professionally
- Minimum 7-10 years previous experience in preparing Rail CSR Design Layouts, Cross Sections, and details
- Good understanding of CSR and services design principles and methods of heavy (Freight and Metro) & light rail projects.
- Good understanding of the multi-disciplinary interfaces with Rail CSR design
- Familiarity of technical standards for design, construction and maintenance
