  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
  • Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Chec k: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customer and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in identifying security vulnerabilities, software development, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection
  • OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with Secure Software Development practices
  • 3+ years experience with implementing security controls and process for hyper-scale computing platforms
  • CISSP, CASP+, or similar certifications

Responsibilities
  • Conduct targeted security reviews and threat models to identify known and unknown vulnerabilities and weaknesses
  • Conduct emerging Threat and Vulnerability Research
  • Identify and evaluate new areas for research, perform analysis into emerging threats, including proactive security research on the technologies that Azure and our customers utilize and depend on
  • Embody a learning and sharing mindset along with drive to improve the existing state.
  • Coordinate planning and execution with internal engineering teams, business partners and technical leaders across the division
  • Proactive identification and reduction of Security issues through design, testing, and implementation of custom tools / solutions
  • Ability to work as part of an on-call rotation and to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously
