DESCRIPTION

As a Manager of Software Development, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in define, design, development, test, deployment and operation of large scale distributed systems targeted at financial intelligence and optimizing business operations. A successful candidate will have an established background in leading agile high performance teams, a strong technical ability to guide and coach, excellent project management and communication skills and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will interface with our external customers to understand requirements and set the right priorities and direction. You will help develop long-term development roadmap and will own all operational metrics for your team’s software.Key job responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall systems development life cycle- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering organization- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to leadership and peers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
